In-Class Field Trips for Grade Six Students

Up, Up and Away!

flight-3 Students will have the opportunity to construct, test and modify their own planes which will remain with the classroom.

Through experimentation and discussion, students examine the various principles of flight. Parachutes, propeller design and recognizing the importance of stability and control in aircraft flight are a few of the areas covered in this dynamic and exciting program.

Learner Expectations we aim to cover in this field trip:

Topic A: Air and Aerodynamics
1. GLE 6-5
2. SLE 3, 4, 7
Topic B: Flight
1. GLE 6-6
2. SLE 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Field Trip Information:

Cost (does not include GST): $12.71 per student.
A minimum charge of $254.00 applies to sessions with 20 or fewer students.

Number of Adult Helpers Required: 2-3
The field trip can’t happen without them. Check out our FAQ page for hints on where to find your helpers.

Field Trip Length: 2 – 2.5 hours (we will be working through recess)
Facilitator will arrive approximately ½ hour before start time for set up.
